The design for the Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center is about wellness and community. The clinic is growing and the urban clinic start up space couldn’t contain the growth of the practice. Instead of surviving, they wanted to thrive.

“The team at MIMC wanted the clinic to work for them in ways they work for their patients. For the design team, that meant understanding their workflow and designing a space that supports that and makes their processes and patient experiences simple and natural,” said Betsy Vohs, Studio BV Founder and CEO. “The spaces are designed to support their work with patients. The consult rooms are comfortable, soft and full of texture, privacy and natural light and work for both the provider and the patient.”

The lobby is welcoming with warmth and softness. The waiting area is full of hospitality welcoming clients into a space that is on brand and about wellness, comfort and joy. The colors are soft playing on soft coral, white oak, silver and gray.

The design in these spaces embraces the experience of the patient in multiple ways. First, as they move from the lobby to the consultation room it’s a soft and welcoming experience. The path to the lab, and infusion area is filled with texture and joy anchored by a mural by a local artist.

The infusion area has views to the neighborhood and is designed to support relaxation and work. The area is animated with dancing lights and anchored by a bold coral ceiling.

The work of the clinic is to help patients heal and thrive and the design is focused on amplifying that in the environment.
