Parkview Behavioral Health – Park Center
Design Collaborative’s Parkview Behavioral Health – Park Center in Fort Wayne reimagines mental healthcare with a healing environment that prioritizes comfort, safety, and thoughtful design for therapeutic support.
As part of the vision, to expand its commitment to mental healthcare, Parkview acquired and is beginning to transform the Park Center outpatient campus to better serve clients seeking therapy and support.
The design team focused on creating a healing, dignified space that feels welcoming and non-institutional. Thoughtful design details—like warm lighting, nature-inspired finishes, and private therapy areas—were informed by patient and clinician feedback. Special attention was given to trauma-informed features such as visible door lock indicators and quiet rooms for retreat and reflection The result is a flexible, calming environment that supports both group and individual therapy, with dedicated areas for spontaneous conversations and staff respite. High ceilings and natural daylight create a sense of openness, while material choices intentionally avoid the clinical feel often associated with healthcare spaces. More than a renovation, this project represents a transformation—turning it into a space where healing, safety, and empathy are at the forefront of care.
