TIM Ambulatory Clinic

Tsutskiridze+Architects’ TIM Ambulatory Clinic in Tbilisi reimagines an industrial space into a calming, user-friendly healthcare environment through thoughtful design and bespoke furniture that fosters community engagement.

  • area / size 8,611 sqft
  • Completed 2025
  • Location Tbilisi, Georgia,
  • Type Clinic,
  • The TIM Ambulatory is located in a space that previously functioned as an industrial pavilion used as a furniture showroom. The lead architect, David Tsutskiridze, completely reprogrammed the structure’s purpose through a full interior redesign—transforming it into a fully functional and aesthetically refined outpatient clinic.

The main idea was to reinterpret the industrial interior and give it a soft, approachable, and distinctly non-clinical atmosphere. Through the use of curved forms, velvet textures, and a warm-cool color palette, the space encourages calmness and familiarity. A custom-designed central bench defines the waiting area and creates a socially engaging experience.

A large circular ceiling light enhances the perception of height and openness, while the integrated branding elements and legible signage ensure a coherent and intuitive user experience.

    Custom Design Elements
A key feature of this project is the bespoke furniture, designed by the architect David Tsutskiridze specifically for this interior:
    • The large oval-shaped bench in the entrance waiting area
    • The deep acoustic niche seat along the curved wall
Both pieces were conceived and detailed by the author and custom-built, contributing a signature identity and elevating the spatial experience beyond generic solutions.

    Branding & Accessibility
The clinic’s spatial branding is fully embedded into the design language, offering clarity and comfort to all user groups.

    Sustainability & Hygiene
Natural daylight, LED lighting, and easy-to-clean materials create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.
