  • The redesign of this optometry clinic was driven by the desire to rethink its functional layout while respecting its legacy and integrating modern solutions. The main goal was to create a welcoming, efficient, and user-friendly environment that could meet the diverse needs of its clientele—ranging from children to adults and seniors—while strengthening the clinic’s brand image and fostering a sense of belonging.

One of the project’s central challenges was managing the display of over 3,000 eyeglass frames, each with unique features tailored to a broad and diverse clientele. To accommodate this variety, custom display units were developed to present the products in a cohesive and visually engaging way. Some displays were designed to be accessible from multiple sides for maximum practicality, while others offered modular, adjustable pegboard systems. This approach allowed the team to quickly adapt the layout based on product needs. Balancing aesthetics with usability was a top priority; all display systems were visually coherent with the clinic’s overall design while ensuring smooth and attractive product presentation.

The spatial layout was carefully designed to meet user needs while maintaining appropriate levels of privacy. Clear and intuitive reception zones, distinct waiting areas, a child-friendly corner that is visible yet isolated, and well-organized sales and consultation areas were all strategically planned. This organization supports smooth circulation and accessibility while creating a warm and professional environment in which visitors feel welcomed and respected.

Special attention was paid to lighting and acoustics to cultivate a calm and pleasant atmosphere, which is especially important in a high-traffic medical space. Custom lighting solutions were installed to enhance frame visibility and ensure proper light intensity for various uses. Material selections were made with comfort, durability, and harmony in mind, contributing to the overall ambiance of the space.

Despite organizational challenges—particularly the need to keep the clinic open and fully operational throughout construction—the project was successfully completed through close collaboration between the design team and various stakeholders. This partnership ensured minimal disruption to services while achieving high design standards.

Every decision, from spatial planning to material selection, was made with a focus on blending form, comfort, and functionality. The result is a clinic environment that is both practical and welcoming, improving the overall user experience and reinforcing the clinic’s identity.
