Cellebration Wellness is a specialized stem cell therapy center located in San José, Costa Rica. Its mission is to provide top-quality treatments for a range of medical conditions, combining advanced technology, wellness, and highly personalized care in a welcoming environment.

When designing its new headquarters, the company entrusted Contract Workplaces with the challenge of creating a space that could harmoniously and efficiently integrate treatment areas, high-complexity laboratories, and administrative functions—without compromising comfort or the patient experience.

The conceptual foundation of the project was to unite science and healthcare within an atmosphere inspired by local nature. Drawing from biophilic design and emerging wellbeing trends, the space was envisioned as an active contributor to the healing process.

Developed on an L-shaped floor plan covering 360 m², the layout revolves around a central element called the “light box”—a waiting area that also functions as the organizational core of the space. This central volume divides the layout into two main areas: administrative and procedural. From here, two separate circulation paths were defined—one for patients and another for staff—ensuring privacy, efficiency, and functional clarity.

The patient path provides access to treatment rooms and recovery areas, supported by a nursing station and labs. The administrative route includes offices, a meeting room, and two medical consultation rooms.

To move away from the sterile feel typical of healthcare environments, the design embraced natural materials. Wood became the main feature, adding warmth, elegance, and a sense of comfort that improves the perception of the space. This was complemented by a palette of neutral tones, from cream to soft gray, reinforcing a calm and soothing atmosphere.

Throughout the facility, graphic elements inspired by local vegetation were incorporated, helping to create a visual and emotional connection with the surrounding natural environment.

Lighting was another key component of the interior design. It was resolved through translucent Barrisol-style stretch surfaces on both ceilings and walls, enabling soft, even lighting without harsh contrasts. This enveloping glow contributes to the serenity of the environment and supports the therapeutic intent of the space.

The result is a modern and professional space where every design decision serves not only an aesthetic purpose but also enhances the patient experience and strengthens their connection to the healing process.
