SOS Cardio Hospital – Oncology Unit
IDEIN ARQUITETURA’s design for the SOS Cardio Hospital’s Oncology Unit in Florianópolis merges modern aesthetics with functionality, creating a serene, patient-centered space that enhances comfort and care efficiency.
Located in Florianópolis, SOS Cardio Hospital stands out on the Brazilian healthcare landscape as a high-complexity medical center.
Our project for the Oncology Unit at SOS Cardio Hospital aimed to modernize the existing space, providing greater comfort for patients, companions, and the healthcare team.
The design was developed using rounded forms, creating a sense of movement and spatial fluidity.
A palette of light and pastel tones was chosen to foster a more welcoming environment, while the lighting design allows adjustments between direct and indirect light, enhancing visual comfort.
Large windows open onto green areas, bringing in natural daylight, and materials with natural textures complete the light and pleasant atmosphere.
The unit features a large, centrally located nursing station and a strategically positioned compounding pharmacy to optimize internal workflows.
With seven individual infusion chairs and two beds for chemotherapy administration, the unit offers privileged views of the mangrove, the sea, and the sunset.
Overall, the project reflects the importance of well-planned environments in the context of oncology care, contributing to a more humanized, comfortable, and efficient patient experience.
