JDV Projects finished the new space for Peninsula Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine clinic in Sydney, Australia.

The blank canvas of the new Northern Beaches Hospital is the setting for a new 450sqm medical fitout project for Peninsula Orthopaedics.

Entry to the clinic is through a large frameless glass sliding door where patients are greeted by an impressive eight-person reception which caters to the seven consulting rooms, one hand therapy room and two cast rooms within the clinic.

The modern reception area responds to the coastal Northern beaches setting and provides seating for fifty patients. A custom-designed and fabricated circular banquette is a focal point; both visually impressive and functional.

The area features a range of bespoke elements and complimented by vibrant colours and subtle lighting which creates a warm and welcoming environment, departing from the traditional stark and clinical environment.

Environmentally friendly materials include Plyboo a natural bamboo timber which was used in both wall paneling and reception desk fronts; A textured feature wall behind the signage is a hand-crafted plaster cast panel from Stonini. A Mablo solid surface counter and Plyboo frontage competes the warm and inviting appeal of the practice.

The three custom-built convex and concave curved reception counters were particularity challenging to design, document and fabricate. The back-of house office houses a bright and open work environment for the team with workstations, a break-out space and utilities.
