Cingulum Health Clinic
Unita Health and Alexandra and Katie Teo collaborated to bring a sense of warmth and comfort to the Cingulum Health Clinic in Sydney, Australia.
Cingulum Health is reinventing treatment for neurological disorders and mental illness. The multi-disciplinary practice is the brainchild of world-renowned brain surgeon, Professor Charlie Teo, and his daughter Alexandra Teo.
With the design formed by Alexandra and Katie Teo with the help of architects Symth & Smyth, Unita was briefed to build a space that combined science and evidence-based medical but, unlike a typical medical space, is enveloped in a sense of warmth and comfort. Employing biophilic design principals, the space includes indoor gardens, fluted Tasmanian oak feature walls and abundant natural light and airflow to create a sense of both physical and mental wellness.
The practice incorporates both wide open co-working spaces and intimate smaller rooms; tied together with the industrial details that add character throughout the heritage listed building.
