Matteo Thun & Partners and HDR collaborated to complete the hospitality-focused university hospital of Waldkliniken Eisenberg in Eisenberg, Germany.

Waldkliniken Eisenberg by Matteo Thun & Partners in collaboration with HDR Germany: Hotel standard for a municipal hospital, the largest University Orthopedic Centre in Germany: the circular building of Waldkliniken Eisenberg, with its facade made of local wood and with 128 patient rooms and 246 beds, will accommodate orthopedic patients after their operations in a building that consciously puts its temporary residents at the center. The hospital is designed like a 246-bed hotel. The interior concept offers patients the opportunity to withdraw and enjoy privacy in the Z-shaped two-bed rooms. Spacious verandas connect the rooms, all of which face the surrounding nature. The patient is the guest!
