  • MHTN Architects was tasked with giving South Jordan VA Clinic a modern and comfortable environment in South Jordan, Utah.

The South Jordan VA Clinic is a 30,000 square foot facility that features exam rooms, telehealth and tele-retinal, audiology booths, and laboratory services. Located adjacent to the University of Utah Health’s South Jordan Health Center campus in Daybreak, the clinic has areas dedicated to women’s health and family practice, as well as offices for physical and mental health, ensuring veterans can seamlessly receive holistic care. Overall, the clinic provides spacious and easy to navigate corridors, open office space for team collaboration, and break areas filled with natural daylight and floor-to-ceiling views.

The veteran patient experience drove the design of the new VA Clinic. The facility focuses on access, wayfinding, and services while creating an aesthetic that honors our veterans. This begins with the main lobby where patients are greeted by an inviting and elegant waiting area that allows for self-check-in and access to services. The centralized main lobby acts as a core wayfinding component as it provides direct access to the various specialty clinics. Provider efficiency is addressed by locating care team pods between the exam room corridors. A central care team space adjacent to the exam and procedure rooms increases efficiency of physicians. The patient experience is streamlined by spending less time walking between exam rooms and waiting areas while providers have a separate space for collaboration.
