BOX Studios created a warm, welcome, and modern space for the TONE Dermatology Clinic located in Chicago, Illinois.

Starting your first medical practice is never easy, but to add a retail component is an extra layer of complexity. Our client was ready for the challenge! Based on her digital research and word-of-mouth, the doctor retained BOX Studios to deliver her vision.

The selected site is located in a mid-rise, mixed-use building in the vibrant South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. The dermatology/retail office is on the first floor, in the southwest corner of the building. In order to meet our client’s program needs and budget, BOX Studios laid out an efficient donut-shaped concept. The perimeter encompasses an open waiting room, retail space, kitchenette, treatment rooms, staff lockers, and the doctor’s office. The center area is made up of retail storage, an ADA restroom, the utility/laundry room, an administrative office, and the doctor’s working lab. Separating the two sections is a generous circulation path in which two elegant hand-washing sinks service the five treatment rooms.

By understanding the medical practice approach and brand vision, BOX was able to deliver a cohesive hospitality design for our dermatology-focused client.
