HOK completed an eye-catching building for the Grady Health System’s Correll Pavilion to further expand care in Atlanta, Georgia.

Earlier this year, Grady Health System unveiled their new, free-standing ambulatory center and clinic adjacent to their main campus in downtown Atlanta. The nearly 600,000-sq.-ft., 10 level building was designed to reflect the health system’s commitment to patient-centered care – including meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families. As the metro’s only Level 1 trauma center, the new facility increases clinical capacity by 45% and offers 25% more operating rooms than before, meeting the growing healthcare needs in Atlanta.

The facility houses outpatient reception, pre-testing services, education spaces, 200+ more beds, modular outpatient clients, an outpatient cancer center and medical retail – as well as a 600 car structured parking garage. The design and programming of the building is tailored to the needs of both patients and staff, with a modular, flexible model. Ample natural light, clear wayfinding, expanses of glass and a calming color palette create a modern, accessible design solution for the health system.
