Interite delivered the design and construction of an IVF day surgery for one of Australia’s leading IVF providers.

City Fertility boasts 16 clinics, over 70 consulting rooms, and 60 of Australia’s foremost fertility specialists nationwide. They ensure the best chance of conception for their patients through stringent protocols, pioneering research, and scientific treatments. City Fertility sought a national team to deliver a complex healthcare facility, in Victoria, while adhering to compliance codes, budget requirements, and tight timelines.

Interite delivered this project by bringing a broad spectrum of experts under one roof – from designers and engineers to project managers and technical specialists. With regular team meetings to keep everyone aligned, we ensure effective problem-solving and high-impact solutions.

For this class 9a healthcare facility, we engaged in a rigorous process with the health board across Victoria (VIC Department of Health). To be certain each site met relevant industry standards, we collaborated with our consortium of technical SMEs and the health board to align design and delivery with all necessary requirements and certifications.

Navigating Complexities
The site housed an IVF laboratory – an extremely complex, specialised, and stringently controlled environment. This meant accounting for a wide range of critical factors – environmental sterility, temperature and humidity control, air purity, cryopreservation capabilities, embryo culture conditions, equipment calibration, staff training and expertise, confidentiality and ethical standards, data security, and regulations – to ensure peak performance.

Patient-centric Design
We understand that fertility treatment can be a nerve-wracking, stressful time for patients. With so much at stake, it’s crucial to ensure they feel as comfortable as possible throughout the process. And that begins with design. To balance the clinical nature of the facility with a patient-friendly design, we included private consultation rooms, comfortable waiting areas, and aesthetically pleasing interiors to create a supportive and welcoming environment for patients.

Successful Delivery
We coordinated efforts among various stakeholders – City Fertility, our internal teams, equipment suppliers, and specialist subcontractors – to deliver this high-quality, sophisticated IVF facility. The site satisfied the creative brief and meet the evolving needs of City Fertility’s clients. All while supporting their strategic goal of expanding their services in Victoria.
