  • As part of Van Wert Health’s expansion, the new Cardiopulmonary Unit enhances accessibility and functionality by relocating key services within the hospital.

The suite houses Nuclear Medicine with a GE gamma camera, pulmonary function testing, echocardiogram, EEG, and stress test rooms. Designed with a dual-sided layout, it provides a dedicated waiting space for outpatient visitors while ensuring seamless access for inpatient care from the medical-surgical floor.

Efficiency and patient comfort were central to the design. A new lounge area offers a welcoming space for post-procedure patients, while the integration of the gamma camera and adjacent “Hot Lab” required precise coordination of lead-lined drywall, concrete slab trenching, ductwork, and wiring. This thoughtfully planned unit enhances both operational efficiency and patient experience, representing a significant step forward in cardiopulmonary care.
