Bangkok Hospital Phuket – President Ward
MADA Design Factory’s President Ward at Bangkok Hospital Phuket redefines healthcare with a culturally rich, sophisticated design that merges local identity and luxurious comfort to enhance patient well-being.
Located on the 8th floor of Bangkok Hospital Phuket, the President Ward is designed as an exclusive inpatient environment spanning approximately 1,350 square meters. The project is inspired by the richness of Phuket’s diversity—its people, culture, landscape, and layered identity—translated through the concept “The Art of Diversity.”
The design reinterprets Phuket beyond conventional tropical imagery, instead expressing the island’s multicultural character through spatial composition, texture, form, and atmosphere. Influences from local architecture, cultural layering, and natural scenery are subtly abstracted into the interior language, creating a refined and contemporary healthcare environment that feels both luxurious and deeply connected to place. Curved architectural gestures and soft transitional forms are integrated throughout the ward to create a calm and fluid patient experience.
Arches, layered textures, and rhythmic patterns are carefully orchestrated to evoke movement and continuity while softening the clinical character of the space. These elements also reinforce a sense of intimacy and comfort, supporting emotional well-being during recovery.
Color plays a defining role in shaping the ward’s atmosphere. The palette is inspired by the nuanced tones of roses, selected to create a balance between warmth, elegance, and tranquility. Shades such as Montmartre, Westminster Abbey, Brut, Quicksand, and Notre Dame are translated into interior finishes and material applications, bringing depth and softness into the environment. Together, these tones establish a calm yet refreshing ambiance that enhances the premium hospitality experience within the healthcare setting.
Materiality is approached with sensitivity to both aesthetics and function. Soft-textured finishes, warm neutral surfaces, and subtle detailing contribute to a refined environment while maintaining durability and healthcare performance standards. Integrated lighting is designed to enhance spatial layering and highlight architectural curves, creating gentle illumination that promotes relaxation and visual comfort.
The President Ward is envisioned not simply as a medical facility, but as a personalized healing environment where hospitality, culture, and healthcare converge. By embracing diversity as both inspiration and design language, the project creates a unique patient experience that reflects the spirit of Phuket while elevating the standards of contemporary healthcare design.
Through the integration of local identity, sophisticated material palettes, and fluid spatial expression, the project delivers a premium inpatient experience that is emotionally comforting, culturally connected, and distinctly memorable.
