    Conversion of a Heritage listed building into the headquarters of the National Institute for Complementary Medicine.

    Gray Puksand was engaged as lead consultant by WSU to convert a 4,500sqm four story heritage listed building in Westmead, Sydney into the headquarters of the National Institute for Complementary Medicine.

    This project included the design, documentation and furnishing of workspace, clinics and laboratories for the institute. This included a full building services upgrade and compliance with building regulations, including fire engineering.

    The project was split in two stages. The first stage included all workspace, meeting and conference facilities, reception, shared collaborative spaces, clinics, herb preparation laboratory and dispensary together with a full building services upgrade at a cost of $9M.

    The second stage included the fit out of all research laboratories of the institute split over three levels of the northern wing. The second stage was documented only to concept approval stage until more funds are made available.
