  • HKS completed the design of Erlanger Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center as a premier space of care for babies and children in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Children’s Hospital at Erlanger is one of four Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Centers in the state of Tennessee. It provides the highest level of care with immediate access to state-of-the-art equipment and a staff of pediatric subspecialists— important advantages for the children of this region. Children’s Hospital is a full-service facility with a designated Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, providing the very highest level of care for premature or sick newborns. The Pediatric Trauma Team, Emergency Department, and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provide immediate, 24-hour-a-day care for critically ill or injured children. Erlanger LifeForce Air Ambulance and the Neonatal/Pediatric Ground Transport make the services of Children’s Hospital quickly accessible to pediatric patients throughout the region. No other facility in the region offers these services

The Erlanger Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center is designed to engage children, distract them from their illnesses and meet the complex needs of families and physicians. The center serves as the gateway to a Wellness and Innovation District that will transform the economic development of the area and attract the best medical talent from around the world to Chattanooga.

The 100,000-square-foot center will provide outpatient services for 21 specialties, including the region’s only certified pediatrics genetics counseling. The Healthy Eating Active Lifestyle Center will address pediatric obesity. Focused on operational efficiency and improving the family and patient experience, the outpatient center will establish new precedents for Erlanger Health. The clinic layout is designed to accommodate multiple specialties and enable flexible scheduling.
