  • Boulder Associates were tasked with completing a comfortable and thoughtful space for short-term care at The Center at Centerplace in Greeley, Colorado.

This 54-bed, three-story, 54,000 s.f. skilled nursing facility brings more short-term, rehab-specific skilled nursing beds to an area of Colorado which anticipates strong future growth. The Center offers short-term care, typically 10 to 20 days, for patients needing physical rehabilitation and complex care.

The facility houses a dining area, spacious rehabilitation gym, physical therapy garden, single-patient rooms with private bathrooms, and a sun room with mountain views afforded by large glass windows. Interior lighting fixtures on the first floor offer a sleek, contemporary feel; this modern sensibility is carried throughout the interior design.

As a unique counterpoint to the facility’s contemporary interior, the exterior design of the building was inspired by the agricultural structures that surround the Greeley area. To meet budget needs, the building design uses economical skin materials and was influenced by the structures that dot the rural landscape.

The main entrance to the facility is located to the side of the building between the street and an access road. This was done to provide better vehicular access from multiple directions, it also allows for better patient, staff, and visitor pedestrian access to neighboring commercial areas.
