AMITA Health Adventist Health Medical Center La Grange – Outpatient Pavilion

  • area / size 48,500 sqft
  • Completed 2020
  • Anderson Mikos Architects designed the update of the Outpatient Pavilion at AMITA Health Adventist Health Medical Center La Grange in La Grange, Illinois.

AMITA Health asked Anderson Mikos to develop an expansion/renovation on the medical campus located in La Grange, IL. This development aims to create an Orthopedic and Cardiac Institute on the Adventist Medical Campus at La Grange. These facilities are being designed to provide the highest level of patient care. The expansion will include a three-story addition, consisting of 12,000 s.f. per story, a 1,000 s.f. lobby space and an 11,500 s.f. basement. The design will meet the brand standards set forth by AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center. The Preliminary Program will include:

    • 6 Orthopedic Operating Suites, specifically for joint replacement procedures
    • Relocating the existing Cardiology program into the first floor of the expansion and existing space through renovation of existing interior space
    • Sterile Processing Department
    • Connecting this Expansion with the existing structures

This development had an aggressive schedule to advance AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center’s goal of bringing the orthopedic ORs to market. Construction began Spring of 2018 with completion by Summer 2020. The turnaround times needed to be reduced and all ORs right-sized due to the inefficient use of the department.

AMA created a central core scheme with all ORs surrounding it. Direct connection to the SPD allows for quick response and next case setup. All ORs are identical utilizing prefab systems-for ceilings/light systems, allowing for consistent detailing and faster installation.
