One Community Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Hood River, Oregon. For over 34 years One Community Health has served residents of the Columbia River Gorge with a special focus on vulnerable and underserved communities.

This brand-new healthcare center has been designed so all patients – regardless of socioeconomic status – have access to integrated whole-person care in a beautiful, state-of-the-art building. At 38,000 square feet, the new facility has more than doubled the previous clinic, and offers physical, mental, oral, and preventative health services.

The new facility was designed by Scott Edwards Architecture, constructed by Bremik Construction, and furnished by PacificWRO.

The design team from Scott Edwards Architecture worked in tandem with PacificWRO to select furnishings which reflected the clean, modern, and sophisticated design of the new space. While at the same time, they were careful to work within the clinic’s budget, which was funded primarily by USDA federal grants.

The design and furnishing solutions are highly conducive to community gatherings. The clinic’s open entry and foyer features a children’s play area, two multipurpose rooms with a community kitchen, and a welcoming bar-height table with built-in power.

The design themes and furnishings throughout the new facility all carefully reflect the Pacific Northwest color palette and outdoor concepts.

In all, the new healthcare facility is home to over 25 exam rooms, plus one ultrasound room, and two medical procedure rooms. The space is inviting to the community with two large waiting areas, one large community use lobby, and two multipurpose community rooms.

Administrative staff and healthcare providers have access to ergonomic workstations and seating throughout the 26 workstations, and four open-office teamwork rooms – large enough for 16 providers and staff in each of the four spaces. In addition to the exam rooms and workspaces, the new facility boasts 9 different conference and meeting rooms.
