Bergmeyer was tasked with bringing the brand mission to realization at Iora Primary Care‘s location in High Point, North Carolina.

The design of these practices was driven by Iora’s mission and the desire to revolutionize and optimize the patient, caregiver, and staff experience while meeting the individual needs of communities served by Iora Primary Care. Dedicated to the mission of restoring humanity to healthcare, the new design of their spaces allows Iora Primary Care to fully focus on the patient, caregiver, and staff experience while encouraging patients to use their facilities as “third spaces” for social interaction. We design with a unique and unconventional approach, giving strategic forethought to the people experiencing their environment and the relationships that develop within them.

Evident throughout the practice is the fine line between achieving a balance of respecting patient privacy while providing environments that break down barriers between caregivers and patients. Upon arrival to the practice, patients are welcomed with a cozy reception area. This area includes unexpected amenities such as a well-stocked coffee/tea station, comfortable hospitality-inspired decorative lighting and furniture clustered around a fireplace, and a group room programmed with wellness classes designed to empower patients to lead happier and healthier lives. This patient-centric approach continues into the exam rooms, where multi-stage lighting allows for adjustment between high output needs for patient visits and softer lighting for extended one on one consultations with physicians, health coaches, and nutritional and behavior health specialists. Unexpected touches such as sophisticated wallpaper and pendant lighting and shared wall-mounted monitors continue to facilitate relationship development in these multi-functional exam/consultation spaces.
